John was a close friend. Both of us were on the Boise High varsity basketball team. He was a very good basketball player and athlete like his older brother Randy. We hung out together on Friday and Saturday nights at the Fiesta Ballroom and Trocadera Ballroom. We decided to float tube the Boise River in early April in our senior year. Jumped on our inner tubes which at first kept us mostly dry while we floated down the river. Our tubes must have had small leaks because in a short distance we began sagging and exposing very important parts of our bodies. By the time we reached Ann Morrison park those body parts were frozen. We could hardly walk and pretty sure bluish changes occured to those sensitive areas. John was a close friend.
